[VIDEO] HOW TO Wirelessly Tether Canon 5DmkII + Eye-Fi to an iPad

Would you to snap a picture with your DSLR and then edit & share it with an iPad/iPhone while out on the go?! Eye-fi cards are definitely a cheap way to do that but if you have a camera that only has CF card slot(s), you’re out of luck! Or are you? Actually, there IS a way and here’s a video I made with a detailed walk-through on how I setup my 5DmkII to tether images wirelessly to an iPad. There are a few things to consider so for even more information, make sure to check out my last post about wirelessly tethering from a Canon 5DmkII to an iPad using an Eye-fi card with details on adapters and techy details. I realized that my past post about Commercial Photographer Joel Grimes‘s location shoot lighting setups were quite popular so I definitely had to share this rare find. Produced by [FRAMED], this video follows and interviews Joel Grimes throughout his workflow to show us exactly how he does his thing; Although the video is pretty lengthy, it shines a lot of insight on his career path, HDR backgrounds (see around 17:00), post-processing, ethos, and studio lighting setup with his 3 huge octa banks. VIDEO: Walking all of China in Christoph Rehage’s “The Longest Way”

This is quite the inspiring short film by Christoph Rehage documenting his epic (and very long) walk from Beijing (China) all the way to Ulumqi. That’s 4646 km in total and took about a whole year. You can get all the details at The Longest Way website. I know this was pretty much a 3 years ago but it’s still seems like a life changing journey. See for yourself in his video below. Sweet Music Video made with 360º Panoramic Camera

First time I’ve seen something like this. NYC music artist, Alan Wilkis, created this song entitled “Come and Go (feat. The KickDrums). It was was made using a single-point capture 360º panoramic camera from Kogeto of NYC. Definitely makes quite the original effect and caught my eye. Just thought of sharing it with you!

GEAR REVIEW: Think Tank modular Skin Component belt System; Skin 50 & 75 Pop Down (with VIDEO)

I have been using the Think Tank modular Skin Component belt system for about half a year now and I do have to say that I don’t know what I was doing without it. The reason I got this system is to be able to carry everything I need on my hips (without a backpack) which is how I like to roll for events, sports, and travel photography. It’s also great for location shoots and for scouting. Just wanted to share my “no non-sense” gear review now that I field tested it for a while. TRAVEL: Ghana Update: Finished editing… Now mailing prints to the people of Kwaman

Just finished my edit from my trip to Ghana and just received the proofs for the lab. I’ll mail these out to the amazing people I met along the path in Ghana. After seeing how excited and happy people became when my girlfriend brought pictures back to the families she visited in a previous trip, I decided I have to do that! It’s amazing the joy that an image can bring to someone although for a short while, I think we worth it. I exchanged mobile numbers with several people so I will be able to get a confirmation that the images got to the people. Let’s hope so ; )

2 Awesome Examples of how GigaPan can make 45 000 megapixel images with your point-and-shoot camera or DSLR!

gigapan systemCram a hundred a images into one and what do you get? Well, it actually depends how you cram them. Jokes aside, I’m always excited over new technologies that allow for different ways of creating images, especially by combining them. GigaPan systems makes a pretty amazing product that works with any camera you might have and it will automatically take a series of images with you camera that you can then combine using their software. So it is a bit pricy at just under a grand but it’s still amazing the level of detail you find in these images. Enough reading, check some examples below for yourself. It can be addicting.

Urban Yoga Photo shoot with Mercedes Ngoh of Yeotown in London UK

Traffic, cars and cement…perfect ingredients for centering yourself with some yoga?! Here’s a urban yoga photo shoot I did a few months back with yoga instructor Mercedes Ngoh. It was a lot of fun and we got lots of looks from pedestrian and drivers in the process ; ) It went really smooth as Mercedes is just amazing and she can perform poses that I don’t dream of achieving, and she did them in total control over and over again.
